Repowering of the Büttstedt wind farm approved

The way is clear for repowering the Büttstedt wind farm in the Eichsfeld. The municipality of Büttstedt has successfully amended the development plan for the wind farm area, and in March 2026 the GERES-Group received the permit for the repowering under the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG).

Six new wind turbines are planned: two Enercon E-175 and four Enercon E-138. They will replace seven Enercon E-66/18.70 turbines. Construction is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2027.

With 30 turbines, Büttstedt is the largest wind farm in the portfolio of the GERES-Group. The repowering renews it for the decades to come.
